The Breakdown Episode 132

Posted: June 25, 2019 in Uncategorized

Featuring tracks from Sticky Fingers, The National, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Leif Erikson, Of Monsters and Men, Phantogram, Metronomy, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Futurebirds, and Yumi Zouma.

Please enjoy this playlist, as I bring it to you from a romantic cabin in the mountains of buttfuck nowhere in Washington state, USA. You may notice there’s a ton of returning musical genii in the form of supergroups such as The National, offering their customary one amazing track from each new album; showcasing that they are still capable of delivering something banging in amongst a pile of whispering and whingeing.

Sticky Fingers, holy shit, I’m so sorry. How this tune wasn’t in my February playlist I have no idea. It turns out I had the new album, Yours To Keep, since its release date in February, however since I downloaded it through an unconventional source, it sat in an unfamiliar download folder until a drunken friend asked me at a party recently what I thought about their last album, which is when I roundhouse kicked a hanging potplant off someone’s balcony in disgust. The tune I have on this episode is that damn good that I have my 8yo nephew currently addicted to it as well.

Same goes for Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Seriously fuck my life. Their last epic album from august of 2018 I missed, but am trying to make up for it by featuring the highlight track Painkillers on here. However I’ll never make up for missing the decade highlight tune Shameful Company, which came off their 2013 album Seven + Mary, but is that damn moving that I’ll be fucked if I’ll skip it based on age. Here’s me invoking the age old excuse, better I got it eventually than never at all.

Anyway fuck you. No I mean awesome on you for finding some sweet ass music to belt out while you go about your twisted daily life.

I love you.
