Greetings music fans. Another bevy of fantastic melodies awaits us here. The usual assortment of individually blogged tracks and highlights from some of my favourite recent albums rounds out the hand selected array on offer in this episode.
Surfer Blood has a new album, well I’m a tad behind on it, so apologies for that, but have go at it anyway! They create fantastic, upbeat indie surf rock tunes, and this album picks up where Astrocoast left off. The Head And The Heart, out of Seattle, have gifted us a new folk drenched album also. I quite enjoyed their last offering and this one is quite enjoyable as well. I have been giving the new album from Canadian indie kings Arcade Fire a listen, and while it appears to be very solid over the first five or so listens I’ve given it, I haven’t as yet been as floored as I was by their 2010 masterpiece The Suburbs. Just a personal opinion, but there are some great moments nonetheless, as evidenced by their brilliant track Afterlife.
Quite a few of the same albums that have been on high rotation in my world are still hanging around. Releases from CHVRCHES, Keep Shelly In Athens, Work Drugs and London Grammar are proving their strength, and are recommended to be given a listen.
This episode, I’ve found, is quite top heavy on the bassy, instrumental or at least semi-instrumental electro dreamscape-y tunes. Judge for yourself, hope you enjoy it!
