Here’s to another rad edition of The Breakdown. First up, my favourite album over the last couple weeks is one by a group called The New Division. They enjoy creating sharp, powerful electro ballads, and I enjoy listening to them. I trust you will also. Cheers to Tulloh for that one.

Other albums I’m presently ripping into are by Half Moon Run (possibly my favourite album of 2013 thus far), Stumbleine, Stars and The Ruby Suns.

The Ruby Suns actually headline a bunch of some of my old favourite indie artists making a return with new material. New stuff appearing in The Breakdown this time around from some of my oldies comes from Gypsy and The Cat, Austra and Active Child. Austra’s album Feel It Break was in my top 10 albums of 2010 and Active Child‘s You Are All I See was my number 2 album for 2011. His stuff is very slow, mellow and broken-hearted, so I put it last in case you get bored with it! It is still a beautiful song in my humble opinion, however.

There are also some sweet tracks from single blogged tracks I managed to dig up over the last couple weeks. Standouts come from Vance Joy, Last Lynx, Graveyard Lovers (they are responsible for what we have dubbed “The Slave Song”) and Ted Zed (remind me a lot of Crystal Fighters).

Get around it guys, I know I say it all the time, but this is a good one, and I hope you enjoy it.
